Linux was fun… I’ve moved back to Windows XP.  I’ve reinstalled Windows XP on both my work computer and home computer.  On my work computer I lost my Active Directory tools, and googled on how to get them back.  Most of the results I found talked about running “regsvr32 schmmgmt.dll” and then “mmc /a” to add the snap-in (seemed like too many steps to get something so simple).  I wanted my Active Directory tools to show up in Administrative Tools.  I found the file “adminpak.msi” in the “C:\WINDOWS\system32\” directory on a Windows 2003 server.  Running this file installed everything I wanted in the correct location (now wasn’t that easy?).

My windows server 2003 (which is also used as a workstation) was starting to get really bogged down. I had a lot of applications I had installed for school, but no longer used since I graduated. I decided to move back to linux again, after all I only installed windows server 2003 to have a test enviroment for IIS and Exchange Server.

Last night I attempted to Network Load Balance (NLB) two web servers for the first time in my life.  The NLB worked, but resulted in the two servers not being able to talk to each other.  This was a major problem since I wanted to mirror the files between the two servers.  I found the solution in this Microsoft article.
