Update: We raised the money for JoJo’s heartworm treatment. She has completed her treatment and is now heartworm negative. She has been rehabilitated and acts like a completely different dog. We’ve found her a great home and she is loving it.

Below is the original post:

Hi, my name is JoJo. I was abused and neglected by my previous owner.
I was left out in the yard with no food or water. The police saved me.

They found me a new home in a small shelter.

I lived in a cage here for over eight months. My cage was the last one on the right.

Unfortunately, my story does not end there.
I recently found out I have heartworms.
They are killing me…
You can save my life…

PLEASE CROSSPOST WIDELY
DO NOT POST ON CRAIG’S LIST

IF YOU CAN HELP THIS BOY TO REALIZE ALL HUMANS AREN’T HURTFUL AND NEGLECTFUL, PLEASE CALL ERIN BELL AT 770-316-5458.

Teniente’s owners came into my work and said their dog had been tethered to a short leash and chain for 2 years and he was defenseless when coyotes came and bit him around his neck, but now he was growling at them when they tried to get near to remove the chain and bring him in. I told them they didn’t have a choice and we needed the dog, why was he just left out there like that anyway…So they bring back a 100 pound Rottie mix who isn’t neutered and his neck reeked of infection. When I took him from the owners, I realized all the infection and pain came from where they had allowed that chain to become embedded in his neck. No bites from coyotes, just a story made up to make themselves feel better.

I wouldn’t have let them touch me, either! They didn’t think anything was wrong with that, they just brought him in thinking I would remove this chain and put on the shiny new one! Needless to say, we had a little discussion that led to him being signed over to us. The doctor who owns the clinic is out of the country and says he MUST be gone by Wednesday. I never offered to take him home or place him, but of course I am his sole caretaker at the hospital now. The technician who said she would take him home or place him has backed out and can’t be bothered to even walk the poor dog. Can anyone help him!?!?!? He shows aggression only when being crated so far. But he’s bad when it does come to that. He isn’t used to confinement….just living cage free tied to a tree. This is desperate! I know the doctor wouldn’t hesitate to just euthanize the dog at 2 years old. I have 7, living in 3 packs already, I can’t squeeze in 100 pounder. THANK YOU!! Email or text me or call me or ANYTHING if you can help–PLEASE FORWARD TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW AND ASK THEM TO DO THE SAME!!!
