I had a problem at work where sometimes Adobe Acrobat Reader PDF files would print the wrong characters. It would display correctly on the screen. Sometimes it would print correctly. Sometimes it would print all messed up. Sometimes it would print half correct and half messed up. Images printed correctly, but text would shift by one character. Example, “a” would print as “b” and “1″ as “2″. I googled and found a fix on this website.

At the Print dialog box, select “Advanced”.

Select “Print as image”.
