Since Katie chewed my iPhone cable in half, I picked up a new one (retractable) from MonoPrice. While I was at it, I picked up a headphone adapter.

I used QuickPwn (Windows) to JailBreak the 2G iPhone on v2.1.
QuickPwn gave me Cydia, and then I added Appulo.us. I also downloaded and installed iPhoneBrowser to download and upload files to my iPhone.

Update 2/1/2009
I did the following (taken from QuickPWN website) to upgrade from v2.1 to v2.2:

Remember to update to firmware 2.2 all you need to do is:
1. Launch iTunes
2. Click update and choose your firmware 2.2 IPSW file
3. iTunes will take care of the rest! :)

On step two I shift-clicked “update” and selected the file. It restored my phone back to “normal” and I had to JailBreak it again.
